Paddled +20 years & a big fan of canoes, teaching my children paddling in them. My 11YO child wanted a birthday kayak but I could not justify a high cost for something he would grow out of and had watched him struggle to move his friends kayak on the beach. Researching I saw the YouTube video for the Pioneer, a kayak with a rear wheel attached. Well priced with a seat & paddle at no extra charge. Going forward it'll probably be hand it down to younger siblings. After an email to check things (British made, some recycled content and no quibble if not suitable), purchase was smooth and I got a few extras (bags, phone case, etc. for his own use) at a better price than my local source. Delivered to our remote home that week and we got a few shots at it before the season ended. Should get years out of it, all v.happy and I'm now a Superparent in my child's eyes.

The Pioneer Kayak entirely lived up to expectations! Ordered 2: for myself and a friend (60kg + 80kg,) Used in the sea, the kayak was very stable and buoyant - even in a bit of breaking surf. I think it might be a bit less stable with heavier adults. The wheel on the bottom really helped with manoeuvering, and is such a useful feature. Cambridge Kayaks were very helpful: an issue arose with one of my paddles: this was very swiftly resolved. Ordering and delivery were very simple, and very quick. I was very happy with the service. Also excellent price. Would highly recomment Cambridge Kayaks - for both product and service.
