Meet Lance: From North Wales to Norway

Posted by Richard Hedges on

We here at Cambridge Kayaks love receiving or being tagged in pictures of your kayaking adventures! It shows the reality of what people do with their kayaks and where they get to. Two years ago we were tagged in one such post which blew our minds! One of our customers on one of our kayaks, off the coast of Norway..... with whales all around! We have since made contact again with Lance who is heading out to Scandinavia again for the next few months.

Over the coming months, we'll be following the adventures of Lance, an outdoor enthusiast, wildlife filmmaker and passionate kayaker, as he embarks on an exciting journey through Norway's spectacular fjords and coastline.

At 29 years old, Lance has already packed more adventure into his life than most people do in a lifetime. Raised in North Wales, surrounded by the rugged beauty of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, he developed a love for the outdoors from an early age. Hiking, kayaking, fishing and camping quickly became a way of life, fuelled by a fascination with wildlife and exploration.

After previously working in the police service, Lance decided to take a different path and pursue his passion for nature, travel and wildlife encounters. His adventures have taken him across the globe, from diving alongside whale sharks in the Philippines and the Azores to swimming with orcas in the Arctic waters of Northern Norway. Closer to home, he has spent countless hours tracking whales, dolphins and basking sharks around the British coastline, documenting these remarkable encounters through his growing online channel, Sebastian Outdoors.

This season, however, marks a new chapter.

Armed with his kayak, camera equipment and a self-built campervan, Lance is heading to Scandinavia to explore Norway's breathe taking fjords, remote coastlines and incredible marine wildlife. Along the way, he'll be sharing stories from the water, wildlife encounters, fishing adventures and the realities of life on the road in one of Europe's most spectacular landscapes.

His mission is simple: to inspire others to spend more time outdoors, appreciate the natural world and discover the incredible wildlife that exists both at home and abroad.

We're delighted to be joining Lance on this journey and look forward to bringing you regular updates as he paddles through some of Norway's most stunning scenery.

Stay tuned as the adventure begins.
