Cambridge Kayaks are excited to introduce the Explorer 430 Touring Kayak. At 4.3 metres, the Explorer is a short touring kayak, yet it offers a full range of storage and performance comparable to longer, more expensive models. It is perfect for coastal adventures and longer trips, camping, or exploring rivers.
The 430 has been designed to be both stable and responsive on the water. The hull features a shallow V and soft edges that enhance tracking and manoeuvrability when edging. The rocker profile allows the kayak to handle waves with ease, while it can also surf swells. A drop-down skeg further improves tracking, and there is also the option to fit our rudder system (included) to aid control through stronger currents and windy conditions.
The wide hull offers exceptional stability, including impressive secondary stability, helping to inspire confidence even for beginners. The streamlined shape also enables the kayak to move swiftly through the water.
On the deck, the kayak has cut-outs designed to improve the efficiency of your paddle stroke. There are also three hatches of varying sizes to store everything from your phone to your camping gear and supplies, while bungees can be used to secure larger items to the deck.
Inside the kayak, there are bow and stern compartments sealed off with 50 mm closed-cell foam bulkheads, which are glued in place using 3M adhesive.
