Cambridge Kayaks are excited to introduce the Explorer 430 Touring Kayak. At 4.3 metres the Explorer is a short touring kayak, yet it offers a full range of storage and performance comparable to longer, more expensive kayaks. It is perfect for coastal adventures and longer trip, camping, on the river.
The 430 has been designed to be very stable and responsive on the water. The hull has a shallow V and soft edges that enhance tracking and manoeuvrability when edging. The rocker profile means that the kayak can handle waves with ease whilst it can also surf swells. A drop down skeg further improves tracking whilst there is the option to fit our rudder system (included) to help tracking through stronger currents and windy conditions.
The wide hull offers exceptional stability, including impressive secondary stability, which can help inspire confidence for even beginners. The streamlined shape also helps the kayak move through the water swiftly.
On the deck, the kayak has cut outs to help improve the efficiency of your paddle stroke whilst there are also three hatches, ranging in size, that will store everything from your phone to your camping gear and supplies. Bungees can also be used to attach larger items to the deck.
Inside the kayak there are bow and stern compartments that are sealed off with 50mm close-cell foam bulkheads that are glued in with 3m adhesives.
