Cambridge Kayaks Soft Padded Roof Rack

Have been puzzling for a while how to transport my kayak without the expense of fixed roof rails. I saw these and have today used them. So easy to use and fix in place. Kayak stayed put. I did use bungee cord front and back as well . Well worth the purchase at a very reasonable price.

Bought this with my new kayak as I don't have a roof rack and I don't want to spend money on one (considering I literally only need it for the kayak, nothing else). These are a great alternative and really good value. They feel very robust and the padding seems easily able to cope with the weight of the kayak, even when strapped on tightly. It took me a couple of goes to get it right as each bar has one long strap (to go over the kayak) and a shorter one (to go through the car and attach to the vehicle). In an ideal world these would be different colours to make it quicker to identify them. But this is just a niggle, over all, seems like a great product.

Fit my little Peugeot 108 just fine. The Zander fits perfectly. I got an extra couple of camlocks but tbh I doubt I needed them. I did do tie downs at the front and back. The kayak never moved, and I was happy at 50mph (sometimes a little more), all was very stable. First time out was only a short journey, about a 40min drive through towns, country roads and some dual carriageway. No problems at all. So if you want a roof rack that can be fitted in minutes and will easily carry your kayak, then these do a good job.

Simple to fit, can use a roof roller to protect your paint when loading a long canoe. 🛶

Really impressed with the soft roof racks. Top quality, easy to use and very effective.
I returned the canoe rear window mount assist but only because it wouldn’t attach to the curve on my Mini Countryman. Returns was easy and refund timely. Thank you I’ll be back!
