Cambridge kayaks are excited to introduce the ‘Big Catch’ fishing kayak to our range. Whilst not actually the largest boat in our portfolio, it is by far our widest! This is not a fast boat, but what it lacks in speed it gains in stability!

The Big Catch is the perfect platform for fishing on. The super stable hull allows you to stand up to cast and its multiple features and large weight capacity give you the flexibility to place all of your kit on board for a day on the water.

The pedal drive and rudder system allow you to position yourself with ease, and the aluminum-framed fishing chair gives the comfort required for a relaxing experience on the river lake or sea.

FIRST FISHING KAYAK

after a few years of float tube fishing on the river Thames, it was time to upgrade to a kayak, after a few months of research and hunting i came across the big catch, it looked amazing and it is.

its nice and wide so i can stand up and work jerkbaits with the rod tip, something i could not do in the float tube, its got a lot of storage so i can easily take 3-4 rods with lures to suit all of them, its really easy to use and turns on a six pence, on my first trip out i managed to paddle up to a weir on the Thames ALOT easier than on the float tube and caught a lot of fish in comfort, best fishing purchase i have made!!!

Big catch

I've been out on the kayak a few times now and its great very stable , turns in a six pence ,being out for up to 6 hours and as I have a slipped disc in my back the seat is very comfortable, the only issue is a buckle has broken on one of the straps to hold the seat up right.
When buying the package it would be good to offer a battery package to go with the fish finder.

Should have done this years ago.

I’m not a kayaker, I’m an angler, and kayaks never really appealed to me, so I can’t compare this boat with other kayaks.
I normally keep a motor boat, but that has its own challenges, so I’ve sold the boat and gone micro. I was sceptical about the pedal system, but wanted my hands free to fish. I’ve had it out a few times now, fishing only, and have pedalled for miles in places where I would be scared to take a larger boat, and had some success.
The little fins push the boat along quite well, and everything seems to be well designed and built.
I’m not too far from the sea, so pull it down to the beach on the trolley, it’s not too difficult, on the Raliblaza trolley which is well designed and easy to use.
I have roof bars on my van, and can get the boat up there, and back off on my own. I can take this wee boat anywhere I want and get some fishing done.
It’s pretty stable, and I’ve had her out in a bit of a swell, though I wouldn’t risk standing up, the seat is fairly comfortable.
The only negative is that due to the additional beam on this kayak, paddling can be awkward. I turned the rod holder and cup holder inside the boat to allow more room to paddle, but it’s still a bit awkward. I’m not complaining as I wanted a wider heavier boat for stability, and that’s what I got.
All in all I’m happy with it, and will be out again in a day or two, with the bonus of getting some exercise into the bargain.

Comfortable and very stable

Great kayak for fishing from and very easy to use. I love the fact that I can carry quite a bit of weight onboard as I am 17st and it holds me and all of my gear comfortably. I originally thought that it would be hard going whilst pedaling but I was nicely surprised to find that it glides through the water easily and gets up to speed reasonably quickly, and is also fairly agile for a big kayak. It is a little on the heavy side but as to be expected due to the width. Would definitely recommend this kayak the anglers who are a bit bigger like myself.
